There’s a lot of uncertainty surrounding the Carolina Panthers’ backfield, particularly as to whether or not DeAngelo Williams will be returning for this upcoming season. On top of that, Jonathan Stewart has a very long history of injuries.

All of this has led many to believe that a running back will be selected by the Panthers, likely in the middle-late rounds.

Jeremy Langford could be a great addition to an uncertain backfield. He probably won’t be a feature back, but those are becoming increasingly obsolete anyway.

He has good hands and is above average in terms of pass blocking – something that many rookie running backs struggle with – so he has the makings of a solid third-down back.

Essentially, he would be a perfect change-of-pace back to complement Stewart’s running between the tackles.

If the Panthers can secure a solid offensive lineman and wide receiver early in the draft, they would be wise to take a chance on Jeremy Langford.
