#24  –  RB C.J. Spiller

2014 rushing: 300 yards (3.8 YPC), 0 TD

2014 receiving: 19 receptions, 125 yards, 1 TD

The physically gifted Spiller is also hitting free agency at an unfortunate time, following a 2014 campaign that was cut short by a broken collarbone.  Spiller has long been the Robin to Fred Jackson‘s Batman, but could use this shot at free agency to seek out a full-time role.

Despite a poor 2014, Spiller is just a year removed from a 927 yard season the year before.  In any negotiations, he and his agent will surely be trying to direct team’s eyes to his huge 2012 campaign, though, where he averaged 6.0 YPC en route to 1,244 rushing yards and 459 yards receiving.

If Spiller were open to a timeshare, I feel that Chip Kelly would love to bring his skill set to Philadelphia.  Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910 radio reported in January that the Arizona Cardinals had interest in Spiller prior to the 2014 deadline, too, which could still be alive.  As for Spiller himself, he seems to have his eyes on a situation similar to his current one in the New York Jets.  With Chan Gailey now running the Jets offense, the New York Daily News now lists the Jets as an appealing option for the 28-year old.

Spiller does have the ability to split out at wide receiver, and is the type of player that several offensive-minded coaches will be nudging their GM’s to pursue.  The market for running backs is at an all-time low and he may not be a bell-cow, but Spiller could make a team very happy on a short deal.

Predictions:  Buffalo Bills, Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles
