Running Back: DeMarco Murray

This one’s a no-brainer. Unfortunately, I can’t start more than one running back, otherwise the likes of Frank Gore (although old, he’s still productive) and Justin Forsett would be on here as well. Murray did run behind and exceptional offensive line last year, but he deserves a lot of credit as well.

Murray totaled 1,845 yards on 392 carries in 2014, easily the league topper. He stayed healthy for the first time in his career, and I don’t think durability will be a concern. As far as Murray’s free agency goes, he could be subject to the dreaded franchise tag (he did say that he wants to stay in Dallas).

Right now, Murray is among the five best running backs in the league. Yes, his offensive line in Dallas was superb, but that shouldn’t overshadow his accomplishments. He easily wins this spot on my team, as he’s currently better than the likes of C.J. Spiller, Ryan Mathews, Mark Ingram, or Justin Forsett.
