Some may not agree with the choice of Jimmy Clausen as the ninth best free agent on the market, but he showed a flash in his one start with the Chicago Bears during 2014. He ended up playing in four games in 2014 and threw for 223 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.

Those numbers aren’t too impressive, but they are still much better than many were expecting. Clausen hadn’t played in an NFL game since the 2010 season before those games, so it was a bit more impressive. At 27 years old, Clausen still has some football left in him and he would be a nice backup signing for any team in need of one.

It has been a bit of a disappointment for Clausen since he was drafted by the Carolina Panthers with the 48th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Perhaps he has gotten his career back on track, but he’ll need to find a new deal this offseason.
