3. Byron Maxwell, Cornerback

It remains to be seen whether the Green Bay Packers will bring back veteran cornerback Tramon Williams, but they should take a look at cornerback Byron Maxwell either way. He made a big difference this past season for the Seattle Seahawks, and would look great in the Packers’ defense.

Not many Packers fans will forget the beautiful interception that he made against Aaron Rodgers in the NFC Championship game.

He would immediately bolster the Packers’ secondary. They are in need of bringing in another legitimate cover corner, and he would bring the tough attitude that the Seahawks’ defense has. Green Bay could get him for a reasonable deal, although they will have to open up their wallets for the talented 26-year-old corner.

During the 2014 season, Maxwell ended up recording 39 tackles, two interceptions, and 12 broken up passes.

Those numbers show exactly the type of playmaking that the Packers need, and stealing him away from Seattle would be a nice feeling as well. Ted Thompson should definitely consider making a run at Maxwell this offseason.
