4. Kenrick Ellis, Defensive Tackle
Terrance Knighton is one name that comes up quite often when thinking about potential defensive tackle targets for the Green Bay Packers, but there is another solid option that would be much less expensive. Kenrick Ellis doesn’t have impressive statistics, but he has a very impressive physical presence and would be an immediate upgrade for the Packers.
Green Bay was expected to bring back defensive tackle Letroy Guion next season, but his status is very much in doubt after an arrest a couple of weeks ago. Ted Thompson and the Packers don’t usually wait around for troubled players to get their lives figure out off-the-field.
Ellis ended up playing in 14 games during the 2014 season, recording 12 tackles and a sack.
Despite the lack of statistics, Ellis is a very impressive player. Teams run away from him, and he is a terror on the defensive line to say the very least. At 6’4″ and 346 pounds, he is a force to be reckoned with for any offensive line.
It wouldn’t surprising at all to see the Packers jump into the bidding war for Ellis, especially with him being the cheaper alternative to Knighton.
