#2 Nose Tackle – A good nose tackle can change a defense, but they are a very limited resource in the modern NFL. Green Bay had their man for several seasons in B.J. Raji, but after regressing recently, an injury wiped out his entire 2014 season.
Josh Boyd chipped in at the position here and there, but it was primarily manned by Letroy Guion. Guion shook off the rest to excel late in the season and there were even rumblings that he was discussing an extension with the Packers. Unfortunately, Guion was arrested last month with a large quantity of marijuana and is now highly unlikely to return.
As with any position, the Packers need for a nose tackle will have to match up with their draft board, but this class does offer some depth along the interior of the defensive line. While positions like WR, CB and TE could all afford to be upgraded, NT is a position of pure need and it’s necessary the Packers address it. I wouldn’t be surprised to see B.J. Raji return on a very team-friendly deal for one season, but Ted Thompson will be searching for a stud here.
Likely round: 1st-2nd
