FSU. Cameron Erving. 32. player. 47.
The Super Bowl XLIX champions didn’t reach the top of the mountain without holes on their roster, and they close out round one of the 2015 NFL Draft by addressing one of the most glaring. The Patriots need a lot of help on the interior of their offensive line, and the versatile Erving can fill any of them.

Michael Bennett’s ability to burst through the heart of the line in the Super Bowl nearly swung the game the other way, and the Patriots need to improve both their starters and backups in that area. This is not inly important to protect Tom Brady, but it allows the Pats to continue establishing their running game. A strengthened offensive line would allow them to continue with their plug-and-play mentality at the running back position which resulted in big showings from Jonas Gray and LeGarrette Blount last season.

Erving is a former defensive lineman who has transitioned very well to the guard position, and offers a plus body at 6’5″, 315 pounds. He brings strong athleticism and uses his hands very well when he is engaged with his defender. Erving is especially talented with getting to the second level and driving through linebackers or safeties. While he is listed as a center, I trust his game at either guard position and Bill Belichick will love the versatility that he brings to the offense.
. OL
