The Denver Broncos’ 2014 season came to a crashing end at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts in January. Speculation arose regarding Peyton Manning’s future, but it seems likely he will put on his helmet for at least one more year, and the Broncos’ focus turns to maintaining a championship-calibre roster.

More from Denver Broncos

Manning’s health will be the main talking point as we head into the season. Assuming he’s fully healthy and returns to Denver, this team will be primed for another Super Bowl run.

There are some offseason questions ahead though regarding their own free agents. Amongst their 19 pending free agents are wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Wes Welker, tight end Julius Thomas and defensive tackle Terrance Knighton.

Demaryius Thomas will be a big salary cap hit in 2015. Per Lindsay Jones of USA Today, the Broncos will designate the franchise tag on Thomas if they can’t agree a long-term deal.

Applying the tag to Thomas means he would be forced to stay with the Broncos on a one-year, $12.8 million deal. That would be a big salary cap hit for the Broncos. Applying the tag may mean the likes of Julius Thomas and Terrance Knighton may not return.

With the compensatory draft picks yet to be announced, the Broncos currently own six draft picks: one pick in rounds 1-3, zero picks in the fourth, two picks in the fifth, one in the sixth and zero in the seventh round. So, who should they select?
