Paul Dawson, TCU Horned Frogs

Position: Linebacker

Height & Weight: 6’2″ & 230 pounds

2014 Season Statistics: 127 tackles, 77 solo, 5.0 sacks, 4 INT, 2 FF, 2 DEF TD

Paul Dawson of the TCU Horned Frogs has an excellent chance at becoming an impact player in the NFL. He’s a dynamic linebacker who can drop back in coverage, rush the passer, stuff the run and has shown the ability to put points on the board as a defender.

If Dawson doesn’t end up in the first round, it’d be a poor decision on whomever passes him up.

Dawson has schematic versatility. He can play in the Mike or Will spots in a 4-3 defense, but also has the ability to be an inside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme.

Regardless of how he lines up, Dawson will make an impact.

The TCU star finished with 127 tackles, 5.0 sacks, four interceptions, two fumbles forced and two defensive touchdowns. Those statistics are indicative of what he brings to the table: everything.

There are other players with a more prototypical body type and superior physical gifts. What Dawson will provide an NFL team is a player who combines moldable ability and superb instincts.

Dawson has every tool to be one of the best players to emerge from this draft class.
