Honorable Mention: Kansas City Chiefs

In 2014, the Kansas City Chiefs received a grand total of zero touchdown receptions from their wide receivers. Running back Jamaal Charles and tight end Travis Kelce found the end zone quite often, but the wideouts failed to do it a single time.

Not only would Andre Johnson take over as the unquestioned No. 1 receiver in Kansas City, but he’d join a team that’s won 20 games over the past two seasons without a true No. 1 receiver.

Alex Smith is inconsistent when throwing deep, but he’s pulled out a number of massive postseason performances and is a marksman in the short-to-intermediate game. From out-dueling Drew Brees to thoroughly out-playing Andrew Luck before his defense’s meltdown, Smith shines when it counts.

Most importantly, he’s an accurate passer who will get the ball in Johnson’s hands to create in space and score in the red zone.

With Charles serving as a dynamic player out of the backfield and Kelce flashing star potential, Johnson would have a pair of dynamic offensive teammates. He’d step into the Terrell Owens role, if you will, in Andy Reid’s patented attack.

The Chiefs won’t give him the best chance to win, but if he wants a big role in a proven system, Kansas City would be an excellent fit.
