53.
Originally this slot was going to go towards the defensive line. Instead, with the recent news surrounding receiver Josh Gordon, this becomes Cleveland’s primary need.

The wide receiver class this season is relatively strong. Cleveland could chose to go in another direction here and rely on the depth of the class, or, they could replace an elite player with an elite prospect.

Jaelen Strong is a big, physical receiver who is quick on his feet. He isn’t the fastest, but he is quick enough to create separation from his receivers. He is also a very good red-zone target, something new quarterback Josh McCown would love.

Strong finished his junior season with 82 receptions for 1,165 yards and ten touchdowns. He isn’t Josh Gordon, but Gordon also didn’t play enough to warrant any real impact. It’s time to move on from the Gordon era, and drafting Strong is a good direction in doing so.
. Wide Receiver. Arizona State. Jaelen Strong. 12. player
