Michigan State. Trae Waynes. 13. player. 15.
In 2014, the New Orleans Saints were expected to compete with the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers in the NFC. Instead, they fell in their division, finishing with a record of 7-9.

One of the biggest issues the Saints faced was their lackluster defense, as they struggled in just about every aspect, including stopping the pass, finishing 25th in the league in passing yards per game. In Rob Ryan’s defense, it is imperative this is fixed, as he tends to send pressure, leaving his corners out on an island.

Drafting a cornerback in the first round will be key to their success next season, and as of now, Trae Waynes is the number one cornerback in the draft. Waynes stock shot up a bit after a very good combine. He ran a 4.31 and excelled during the drills.

If New Orleans want’s to rebound next season, fixing their defense is a must. Adding a young cornerback to the roster can go a long way in helping them not only next year, but for the following seasons as well.
. Cornerback
