42.
In three of the last four seasons, the San Francisco 49ers have made it to NFC Championship. The season in which they didn’t was 2014, and as a result, the world unfairly came crashing down on them.

There are obvious needs at the skilled positions. Michael Crabtree has not produced as expected, Vernon Davis had a down season and Anquan Boldin will turn 35 halfway through the season.

But despite needing upgraded receivers, the 49ers might have a huge hole opened up on the offensive line. Jonathan Martin is not a starting tackle, Anthony Davis has suffered through injuries and Mike Iupati might leave via free agency.

At 15, the 49ers are in a great position to select Brandon Scherff, the multi-talented offensive guard/tackle from Iowa. If needed Scherff can play multiple positions; at a high level, too.

One thing Scherff particularly excels in is run blocking. For the last decade – led by Frank Gore – San Francisco has ran the ball more than almost every team in the NFL.

Scherff can step in and immediately make an impact on the offense.
. Offensive Tackle. Iowa. Brandon Scherff. 15. player
