The Chicago Bears ranked among one of the most disappointing teams in 2014. One specific disappointment was the play from the pass rush, which was expected to be one of the team’s strengths. They finished 18th in the league in sacks; however, after the signings of Jared Allen and Lamarr Houston they were expected to be a top unit.

Allen finished with just 5.5 sacks, while Houston missed half the season due to an injury. With the uncertainty of how Houston will perform next season and Allen’s age, it would be wise to bolster their defensive front with a young prospect like Danny Shelton.

Shelton is a rare breed of defensive tackles, resulting in his draft stock exploding. Mainly, the potential comes from his great size, mixed with incredible agility. He commands and splits double-teams, relieving pressure from the other members of the line.

CBS Sports scout Rob Rang compared Shelton to New England Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork. Wihle Rang doesn’t believe Shelton will be as dominant of a pass rusher, his overall game is strong enough to solidify him as one of the top defensive tackle prospects.
. Defensive Tackle.
