Defensive End. Missouri. Shane Ray. 8. player. 44.
During the 2014 season the Atlanta Falcons did some things right and a lot of things wrong. Their 6-10 record warranted them the eighth pick in the draft, which they will use to improve their pass rush.

Kroy Biermann has a career high of five sacks. Last year, Biermann almost topped his career best, but fell just short with 4.5. But despite not having a career year, he did lead his team in sacks for the first time in his career.

While that is morally a victory for Biermann, it was just another sad bump in what was a terrible year for Atlanta. Being in a division that features two top ten quarterbacks, Atlanta must have somewhat of a pass rush.

Last year, Shane Ray had 14.5 sacks, third best in college. If he is around for the Falcons to select at eight, then they must consider the junior from Missouri. If selected, Ray could come in an possibly lead the team in sacks his rookie season.

Despite slating Ray here, expect Atlanta to go out and grab a veteran rusher in free agency.
