With the defense being bolstered in the opening three rounds, the Falcons can turn their attention to an area of offense that struggled in 2015: The run game.

Improving the 24th-ranked run offense next season could take the Atlanta offense to the next level. Not only would it add another dimension, it would also benefit Matt Ryan and the play-action game. This year’s draft class features a deep pool of running backs, so it would make sense for the Falcons to make their move here in the fourth-round.

Out of Minnesota comes David Cobb. Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press tweeted:

Ryan hits the nail on the head. Cobb is a tough, durable running back who refuses to go down easily. According to his NFL Draft Profile, he gained 54 percent of his yardage after contact from 2013-14.

Cobb rushed 314 times for 1,626 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2014. In a deep class of running backs, Cobb could fall to the Falcons in the fourth-round. DraftInsider.net projects him to go in the fourth, and he could give the run game the jolt it needs in Atlanta.
