Miami Dolphins: 2015 seven-round mock draft
Nov 29, 2014; Louisville, KY, USA; Louisville Cardinals wide receiver DeVante Parker (9) runs the ball against the Kentucky Wildcats during the second half at Papa John
Round 1: DeVante Parker – WR – Louisville
Two seasons ago, the Miami Dolphins locked up Mike Wallace to a five-year, $60 million deal, pairing him with Brian Hartline and Brandon Gibson. Unfortunately, the trio has not worked out, as Wallace has caused a rift in the locker room, Hartline has been inconsistent and Gibson has dealt with injuries.
With the recent release of Hartline and Gibson, the Dolphins must look to bring in a true number one receiver.
DeVante Parker is an intriguing candidate for the Dolphins offense. During his time at Louisville, Parker solidified himself as one of the most successful players in the history of the program. In his four seasons, Parker caught a total of 2,775 yards (fourth in school history) and 33 touchdowns (tied for first in school history).
Although 2014 wasn’t so kind to Parker health wise, he was still productive in the six games he played in, catching 43 balls for 855 yards and five touchdowns.
Parker would fit right in with what Miami is trying to do offensively. They already have Jarvis Landry in the slot, with Wallace as the primary speed receiver. Adding Parker to the mix would give Miami a true number-one receiver, while also forming a solid young core for the future.
