Green Bay Packers: Ranking the top 30 players in franchise history

12 of 32

21. Ahman Green, Running Back, 2000-2006, 2009

The all-time leading rusher in the history of the Green Bay Packers definitely was going to make this all-time list. He is one of four running backs to make this top-30 countdown and his production with the Packers cannot be questioned. He was a four-time Pro Bowl selection and he accomplished that in a four-year span from 2001-2004. Green was a tough runner, but he had enough speed to break it long. He was a home run hitter; twice he had the longest run of a NFL season.

Green’s 8,322 rushing yards are the most ever by a player in green and yellow and he accomplished this by running for over 1,000-yards six times with the Packers. His 54 career rushing touchdowns are the second-most in franchise history. He was a threat out of the backfield as well and he caught 14 touchdowns in his career, too. He averaged a respectable 4.5 yards per rush, which is tied for the best in Packers’ history (minimum 1,000 carries).

His best season was 2003, a year in which he ran for 1,883 yards and 15 touchdowns (2,250 total yards and 20 total touchdowns on the season). Somehow, he wasn’t named First-Team All-Pro that year, but he is still deserving of being included on this all-time list. Time will tell if his rushing record will stand forever or not.
