With Robinson being projected as a sixth- or seventh-round selection, he did get to work out at the combine for the upcoming 2015 NFL Draft, where he ran a 4.70 40-yard dash with 21 reps in the 225-pound bench press.

Want to know why I believe in Robinson? Look at the Tweet from Doug Kyed of NESN:

If the Patriots are even talking to him, it must be he has some type of talent, because from what we see of the Patriots, they don’t waste their time as they are preparing for their 2015 NFL Draft as the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Like I said with Agnew…the Cowboys don’t need a full-time three-down back in this draft, but what they need is a change-of-pace back to keep McFadden off the field for a certain number of snaps.

In three seasons with Mississippi State, Robinson totaled 1,997 yards on 323 carries and 11 touchdowns. In that time frame, he averaged 6.2 yards per carry. In his final season with Mississippi State, Robinson rushed the football 190 times for 1,203 yards and 11 of his 15 career touchdowns.

With those stats listed, now let’s take a look at his highlights at this link.

The very first clip of this video, who does he remind you off right off the bat, without thinking…my first thought was Darren Sproles. Am I wrong in that assessment?

That is why I believe Robinson can be a solid third-down back in the NFL.

Michael Bonner of The Clarion-Ledger wrote how Robinson’s 40-yard dash time wasn’t in the Top 20 of the combine and how he improved on the 4.70 time at his pro day:

"“Robinson came through when he needed to. With scouts from all 32 teams attending Mississippi State’s Pro Day, Robinson ran a 4.61 40. It ranks as 13th best compared to the time posted at the Combine.”"

That improvement for me shows just how dedicated the running back is to proving he belongs in the NFL, and if that is the case, maybe he’s a player the Cowboys should take a closer look at in the draft.

What are your thoughts on the running back?
