5. Colin Kaepernick – Vernon Davis
There’s no question this duo has work to do.
In fact, if it hadn’t been for two of the biggest offseaosn shakeups, in Thomas signing with the Jaguars and Jimmy Graham finding his way to Seattle, Colin Kaepernick and Vernon Davis wouldn’t find themselves in the Top 5.
Sure, they have an abundance of talent.
Throughout his career, Davis has demonstrated his ability to be the most athletic man at his position in the world. He’s had huge seasons like 2009 for example when he threw up 78 catches for 965 yards and 13 touchdowns.
It came when Alex Smith was at the helm.
As good has Kaepernick has been, he’s never fully displayed that true ability to be a real pocket passer. And with Jim Harbaugh now gone, Kaepernick will rapidly regress each and every day from this point on.
Team CEO Jed York and the rest of the San Francisco 49ers ownership will rue the day he chose general manager Trent Baalke over Harbaugh.
