Number 2: Michael Crabtree – Wide Receiver

Michael Crabtree was originally known for his ridiculous catches and moments as a wide receiver at Texas Tech University. In two seasons at Texas Tech, the receiver was thought of as the best in the collegiate ranks, making him a first-round choice by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2009 NFL Draft, with the hopes of him transforming into one of their better offensive players.

Sadly, Crabtree’s career has taken an unexpected turn, as the receiver tore his Achilles before the start of the 2013 season. However, prior to the injury, Crabtree was a nice option for San Francisco, providing the team with consistency and productivity, although he failed to be a number one option.

That changed in 2012, though, when Crabtree had a breakout season, helping the team to an appearance in Super Bowl XLVII. He finished the year as the team’s leading receiver, catching 85 balls for 1,105 yards and nine touchdowns, while quickly turning into one of quarterback Colin Kaepernick‘s favorite targets.

In his first full season back from injury, Crabtree underperformed, having one of the worst statistical seasons of his career. However, as a team, the 49ers struggled throwing the ball, finishing 30th in the league in passing yards per game. But despite their down season, Crabtree was still somewhat effective.

Heading into his seventh season in the league, Crabtree would be able to step in and start for Miami on Day One. At 27 years of age, Crabtree is young and could potentially turn into a number-one/two option for the Dolphins.

He finished the 2014 season playing in all 16 games, finishing with 68 catches for 698 yards and four touchdowns.
