A new head coach, a new general manager, so now it is time for the J-E-T-S … Jets Jets Jets to hand-pick their next quarterback and his name is Marcus Mariota.
At one time Mariota was my No. 1 pick before I really began to think about it. Don’t get me wrong, Mariota is a big-time NFL talent, but I think he’s now the second best quarterback in this draft, that’s all.

It is time for the Geno Smith project to end and time for the Jets to try another quarterback to lead their franchise to the next level, and Mariota it that player.

Why you ask?

Mariota has proven at the collegiate level he’s able to take charge of his team and play in big games (okay, the National Championship game is a different story), but for most of his career Mariota played big in big moment. Playing for one of the two teams who have the New York media watching their every move, Mariota seems to have the poise needed to take that on.

At Oregon this past season, Mariota passed for 4,454 yards, 42 touchdowns and just four interceptions. The Jets were an NFL-worst in passing yards per game at 184.1 with their QBs last season.
. QB. Oregon. Marcus Mariota. 6. player. 30
