Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Kevin Johnson. 1. player. 123. The Dallas Cowboys’ first pick needs to be one that helps out their defensive backfield, and there is one guy in particular that would fit their needs. Wake Forest defensive back Kevin Johnson would make a lot of sense for them and would help in both pass and run coverage.
Johnson isn’t the type of ball-hawking defensive back that the Cowboys do need, but he is a very strong tackler and is solid in coverage as well. He isn’t going to come up with eye-popping interception numbers, but he will get one here and there while playing strong coverage. His ability to help stop the run is going to be a draw for the Cowboys, who finished eighth last season in the league and wouldn’t mind improving even more.

During his four-year career with the Demon Deacons, Johnson ended up recording 189 total tackles, seven interceptions, 38 defensed passes and three forced fumbles.

His numbers aren’t huge, but he has a lot of potential to grow into an even better player. At 6’1″ he would add some size to the Cowboy’s secondary as well, and would be a solid pick with the 27th overall selection.
. DB
