Round 1: DeVante Parker, Wide Receiver, Louisville

To be completely clear, the Mike Wallace experiment didn’t work out well in Miami. There was a thought that he could be the perfect fit with the Dolphins, as Joe Philbin’s vertical offensive scheme were basically tailored to his strengths. However, inconsistencies got the best of Wallace and it ultimately led to him being traded this offseason. With the Dolphins trading their No. 1 receiver away, Jarvis Landry now becomes the No. 1 receiver on the team, with Kenny Stills and Rishard Matthews rounding out the No. 2 and No. 3 receivers.

With that said, the Dolphins should target a receiver early in this draft and one player that would be the perfect fit is DeVante Parker. I was a little surprised that he was still available when the Dolphins were on the clock. Nonetheless, Parker is an intriguing player as he has terrific size at 6-foot-3, 215 pounds and he also has blistering speed. Parker’s huge body allows him to go up for the football and come down with it. His catch-radius is huge and his hands are consistent as well. Landry was solid in his rookie season, but Parker will give Tannehill a legitimate No. 1 option.
