Brice Butler – USC/San Diego State

Brice Butler was taken out of San Diego State with the 209th pick in the 7th round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Butler spent the first three years of his college career at USC but played one season at SDSU after enrolling in a master’s program. He has been a bit part player and has spent much of his time on special teams. His rookie season he only had 9 receptions for 100 yards and managed to double that in his second season with the team.

Many expected the former Aztec to be cut at the end of last year’s preseason but he made the cut and lasted the season. He is one of the weak links in the Raiders receiving corps but he also has the size and speed to make an impact. Butler is 6’3″ and ran a 4.36 40 coming out of college and he has shown his big play ability with several big games in the preseason. It is hard to envision Butler breaking in to the starting lineup but he does provide good depth because of his excellent size and speed.
