The Packers will be on the national stage for their NFC Championship game rematch against the Seattle Seahawks, a team who defeated them 28-22 on Sunday, Jan. 18.

If you remember, the Packers had a 16-0 halftime lead and were 30 minutes away from qualifying for the Super Bowl, but the second half (including overtime) was a disaster for Green Bay with the Seahawks outscoring them 28-6 in the final two quarters and overtime.

Rodgers that game, playing injured, was 19-of-34 for 178 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Lacy was held to 73 yards on 21 carries, and Nelson caught five passes for 71 yards and no touchdowns.

The Packers even intercepted Russell Wilson four times that game, and he was still 14-of-29 for 209 yards with one touchdown on a 35-yard pass to Jermaine Kearse in overtime to send the Seahawks to the Super Bowl.

That game should be motivation for the Packers in Week 2, because if they can leave Week 2 game with a convincing win against a great team like the Seahawks, it can only help them when they will most likely see them again in yet another postseason game do the road.

All-time, the Packers are 10-8 vs. the Seahawks, but the last time the Packers have won against them came on what happened to be the last time they played at Lambeau Field on Dec. 27, 2009 with Green Bay winning, 48-10.

Since the emergence of “The Legion of Boom” in Seattle, the story has been quite different with the Packers losing all three of their most recent meetings (all in Seattle) by scores of 14-12, 36-16 and the aforementioned 28-22 playoff loss.
