Week 14
Date: Sunday, Dec. 13
Opponent: vs. Dallas Cowboys
Time: 4:25 p.m. ET

Not only will this game be very important for a variety of playoff purposes, but this game could be a “letdown” game following whatever the result against the Lions the previous week, or it could be a game where the Packers really gain momentum and pave their way to another NFC North championship.

A lot will be riding on this game, which is a rematch of their NFC Division Round game that ended in controversy for the Cowboys in January of this year.

Was it a catch or wasn’t a catch … both fan bases will never agree. What both sides can agree on is that was one of the greatest playoff games in the history of the NFL with the Packers winning, 26-21 on a fourth-quarter drive by Rodgers and Co. to push them to another round of the playoffs.

All-time, the two teams are 16-16 against each other, so for at least a season (unless they see each other in the playoffs again), one of these two teams will break the all-time tie.

If there is any game that should have playoff implications in December, it will be this game for sure. The Packers have defeated the Cowboys their past four meetings:

Jan. 11, 2015: Packers 26, Cowboys 21 (Lambeau Field)
Dec. 15, 2013: Packers 37, Cowboys 36 (AT&T Stadium)
Nov. 7, 2010:  Packers 45, Cowboys 7 (Lambeau Field)
Nov. 15, 2009: Packers 27, Cowboys 17 (Lambeau Field)

The last time the Packers lost to the Cowboys was on Nov. 29, 2007 by a 37-27 score at the Cowboys’ former home – Texas Stadium.

If you don’t believe there will be bad blood when this game begins … well, you would be wrong. By the time this game rolls around on the schedule, the hope is both teams are equally healthy and they will give us another “instant classic” like last season in the playoffs.

Hopefully both the Packers and the Cowboys are in the running for either a division championship or bye week in the first round, because if they are, there is no way this game can be anything less than spectacular.
