Week 10 – Minnesota Vikings

Teddy Bridgewater and the Minnesota Vikings come to town to face fellow second-year quarterback Derek Carr. Opinions were divided as to who the Raiders would select coming in to the draft or whether either QB was worthy of a first round selection. The Vikings traded up to select Bridgewater with the 32nd pick before the Raiders got a crack at him. The Raiders chose Derek Carr four picks later and both players were the class of their position’s draft class. If the draft was redone it is hard to imagine either player making it past the top 10 picks.

Both players experienced varying levels of success with Bridgewater not getting his chance until Week 3. Carr had 7 more TDs than Bridgewater (21-14) but the Vikings QB had a better supporting cast and was not asked to carry as much of a load on offense.

It is unclear if Adrian Peterson will be on the Vikings roster come opening day and that will swing the game one way or the other. Facing Matt Asiata is a much different prospect than facing an angry and motivated Peterson. The Raiders are even being rumored to make a trade for the Pro Bowl running back but nothing has been confirmed yet.

The Vikings reloaded their offense with the addition of Mike Wallace and they have a dangerous receiver opposite him in Cordarrelle Patterson but this is still a winnable game for the Raiders at home. Expect the Raiders to either win handily or not at all.

Prediction: Win

Record: 4-5
