Week 7 – @ San Diego Chargers

After the bye week the Raiders get a pseudo-home game against the San Diego Chargers. The Raiders always seem to have more fans in the crowd in San Diego then the hometown team and that is of course because of their Super Bowl-winning stint in Los Angeles.

They also have done a good job of splitting the season series against the Chargers in recent years and always play them tough no matter how good San Diego might be that season. Tight End Antonio Gates is one of the chief tormentors of the Raiders and took on the Raider-killer mantle after LaDainian Tomlinson moved to the Jets. At 34 he is still one of the best TEs in the league and had a ridiculous 12 TDs last season. Stopping him will be key to a Raiders victory.

You never know what might happen in these divisional match ups so this game is a tossup. What will swing this game is the undecided future of Philip Rivers. There are rumors flying around that Rivers is being used as trade bait this season as he is planning on signing elsewhere at the end of 2015. If the Chargers still have Rivers running the show then the edge goes to San Diego in a close one at Qualcomm.

Prediction: Loss

Record: 2-4
