All of the speculation, predictions and mocks will soon come to an end. The 2015 NFL Draft is finally upon us, set to get underway on Thursday night from Chicago. The Detroit Lions will be on the clock with the 23rd selection in the first round, a spot that’s truly a huge question mark.

The NFL Draft, and definitely the analysis of it, is an inexact science. The best mock draft specialists are lucky to get five picks in a round correct sometimes. It’s because once a player is taken out of a projected spot, the dominos fall in a completely different direction.

By the time the clock turns to teams in the late twenties — it’s anyone’s guess as to how things will have played out.

For the Lions, they’ll likely have their eye on offensive or defensive line help at No. 23. It’s too far back in the first round to get your hopes up for any particular player, but highly ranked prospects drop down the board all the time (see Sharrif Floyd in 2013).

So as the 2015 NFL Draft approaches, here are five prospects all Lions followers should be aware of.
