19. player. 53.
Once again we assume the Browns have held on to their picks, and after adding a top receiving option in DeVante Parker at 12, Mike Pettine decides to beef up the defensive line with the versatile Brown. With the ability to line up in multiple spots in any front, Brown is a perfect fit of Pettine’s hybrid defense.

At Texas Brown was often asked to take on extra blockers and function as a run stopper, but he’s more than just a big body to clog the middle of the field. Brown moves extremely well, with good power, and has the ability to rush the passer as a defensive end in a 3-4 or defensive tackle in a 4-3 or nickel set.

Flowers could be tempting if available, and while edge rushers Randy Gregory or Shane Ray could be a good value at this pick, their off field transgressions in the wake of Josh Gordon’s latest suspension makes them too risky, especially if a player like Brown is on the board.
. DT. Texas. Malcom Brown
