52.
Last year, nearly every analyst had Khalil Mack locked in as the Jaguars first round pick (a few stayed with Teddy Bridgewater or Sammy Watkins) and they surprised everyone by taking Blake Bortles instead. This year Fowler is the nearly unanimous choice for the edge rusher that Gus Bradley has to take.

I don’t know that the situation is quite that dire, but with free agents C/G Stefan Wisnewski and OT Jeremy Parnell looking like the last pieces to the offensive line puzzle, TE Julius Thomas joining a talented trio of second year wide receivers (Robinson, Lee, and Hurns,) and a promising young Franchise QB in Bortles it finally seems safe for Bradley to turn to the defensive side of the ball in the first round this year.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Jaguars opt for consensus top prospect, DT Leonard Williams in this spot, but assuming they don’t trade the pick, I like the Jags to once again stay in state for their top three pick. Fowler is best known for his versatility, at 6’4, 260 pounds he can line up as a defensive end or defensive tackle and his explosive athleticism and 4.6 second 40 yard dash speed allow him to play as an outside linebacker in 3-4 sets.

Fowler is still raw, as he was asked to do a lot while at Florida, never really getting to focus on one thing. He’s the type of player that could flourish under Bradley. He plays with a high level of intensity and is another player who has been praised for his IQ and understanding of the game.
. DE/OLB. Florida. Dante Fowler. 3. player
