John Elway has always been good to the Denver Broncos. In his playing career he delivered to Super Bowl championships and five AFC championships throughout his 15 year career. He is hands-down the greatest quarterback in Broncos history and arguably the team’s best ever player.
He has yet to bring a Super Bowl to the team as an executive since he became Executive Vice President into 2011 but he has returned the Broncos to prominence after some lean years through free-agent additions but primarily through the draft.
Many of Elway’s critics believe that his success as a general manager is only due to the fact that he signed future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning in 2012. However if you take one look at his draft history it is clear that Elway has a keen eye for talent. Let’s take a look at some of his draft classes and the impact players he has selected these past four years.
