Tight End
Maxx Williams — The top tight end in the draft did not warrant a first round grade, but a team will be happy to add his athleticism in round two. At 6’4″ and 249 pounds, Williams has the ability to stretch the seam but can also play with small feet along the sidelines. His routes will need to be refined and he does not come with a Gronkowski-esque ceiling, but his addition would improve any offense.
Clive Walford — While similar in measured size to Williams, Walford is a thicker right end prospect who will make his money by excelling as a blocker and hauling in short-to-intermediate passes with his large hands. He may remain on the board until the third round, but has the potential to quietly provide solid tight end play in a starter’s role.
Devin Funchess — I’ll include Funchess in the tight end grouping, but some teams do still view him as a wideout. At 6’4″ with mile-long legs, Funchess has the potential to dominate the middle of the field and flash huge abilities after the catch, but his natural catching must be improved. When you look at his body, you expect more than you get.
Keep in mind: Busta Anderson, Tyler Kroft, Nick O’Leary, Jeff Heuermann
