Edge Defenders
Randy Gregory — Shane Ray saw his fall stop with the Denver Broncos, but the issues seem to run much deeper with Gregory. Originally considered a surefire top-5 talent, Gregory could now fall anywhere from the first pick Friday night to the last. This is a situation that absolutely requires the right coach and roster.
Eli Harold — Harold should not slip far out of the first given his ability to disrupt backfields. 14.5 tackles for losses in 2014 at Virginia come from a low, powerful force off the edge that should translate well to the NFL level. One issue that some will find in Harold is his size, sitting at 6’3″, 247 pounds with no room for further bulk.
Owamagbe Odighizuwa — The physically gifted UCLA prospect may not come with the pass-rush skills that teams covet in round two, but his all-around game is impressive. He brings scheme versatility and plus talent against the run, so as long as his hip checks out medically, he should fall towards the latter half of round two.
Preston Smith — Mississippi State’s Smith enters with an impressive body at 6’5″ and 271 pounds with long arms. He uses this length well when engaged across the line of scrimmage, and although he will not be an impact All Pro, he has the potential to be a solid starter.
