Inside Linebacker
Eric Kendricks — The tackling machine out of UCLA will be the best available inside man on some team’s boards due to his polished coverage skills. Kendricks can take on slot receivers and tight ends as needed, and although you’d love to see him add 10 pounds, his football IQ helps to justify his slight build.
Denzel Perryman — The heart and soul of Miami’s defense in 2014 measures in at just 5’11”, but plays like an NFL veteran on tape. Perryman brings his full effort to each play, dedicating his entire body to explosive, game-breaking tackles. While his length limits him in coverage and could see him leave the field on some passing downs, Perryman could be a fantastic pro.
Bernardrick McKinney — McKinney is the most impressive body of the bunch, especially with Stephone Anthony off the board. While he completes his assignments well enough, his abilities to change direction in coverage and go off-script to create plays is not where I’d like it to be. Still, he warrants a pick late in round two.
Paul Dawson — The playmaking machine out of TCU could go in 50 different spots on Friday. On the field, his instincts are unmatched and absolutely controls the field when he’s on it. A horrendous combine torpedoed his stock, however, and raised questions over his dedication to the game.
