It’s perhaps one of the most astounding statistics regarding the 2014 season.

While those observers of the New York Jets will consistently point to the quarterback position as the sole reason for the club’s woes, it’s hard to be worse than the Green and White was this past season when it came to shutting down opposing quarterbacks.

Yes, New York defenders racked up 45 sacks and were ranked a respectable 14th in the NFL in pass defense. But the bottom line was that this team was a disaster at the cornerback position. How else can you explain a Rex Ryan-led defense that allowed a whopping 31 touchdown passes while managing only six interceptions?

Enter a new (well old in some cases) set of cornerbacks in Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie and Buster Skrine. Revis and Cromartie were members of the Jets in the past while Skrine comes over from the Cleveland Browns. Those three players combined for nine interceptions in 2014.
