Scott Chandler

Patriots fans should be giddy with excitement when thinking about Scott Chandler and Rob Gronkowski on the field together. Chandler is actually an inch taller than Gronk. He obviously isn’t athletic and doesn’t have as good of hands, but he is a very capable receiver, especially when he must only be considered a third of fourth option by defenses. Opposing teams must now think about how to cover two giant tight ends. Together they could be a scary combination. Chandler’s volume of targets still probably won’t be extremely high.

Prediction: 50 Receptions, 650 Receiving Yards, 7 TD’s

Michael Hoomanawanui

Hoomanawanui has never been a big factor in the Patriots passing game, as they mostly use him as a blocker. He actually caught more balls in the AFC divisional game against the Ravens, than in the entire regular season. Still he does see decent field time, but that will decrease even more on passing downs due to Scott Chandlers signing. Nothing will change about his usage as a blocker though.

Prediction: 3 Receptions, 41 Receiving Yards, 0 TD’s
