With the offensive depth chart remaining fairly static, all eyes will be on the defensive side of the ball where starting and supporting roles will be open for competition. Perhaps the most pivotal battle is that for the third cornerback job, which appears to be narrowing to a field of Damarious Randall and Quinten Rollins.
The rookies, selected by the Green Bay Packers in rounds one and two of the 2015 NFL Draft, currently sit behind Sam Shields and Casey Hayward on the depth chart. Entering OTAs, many continued to question whether Hayward could hold his own on the outside after being used primarily as a slot option, but I remain confident that this won’t be an issue. In fact, I trust Hayward to take his starting role and run away with it.
