– Patriots still rule the East

Since the 2008 season, the New England Patriots have been the team to beat in the AFC East. Despite the Jets making the AFC Championship Game two straight seasons, they were never able to dethrone the Patriots as AFC East Champions.

It has been a difficult offseason for the Patriots, as Tom Brady is still currently suspended by the NFL for four games with his appeal pending. They also had numerous losses in free agency, with most notably Darrelle Revis leaving to sign with the Jets. Even though things look don’t look as shiny as normal in New England, the Patriots can’t ever be counted out.

Last season, the Patriots got off to a rough start and with people writing them off in Week 5, they would then go out and smash the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football.

Until someone else wins the AFC East, the Patriots will continue to rule it making it difficult for division teams including the Bills to make the playoffs. Buffalo will have to once again battle for one of two Wild Card spots, and that’s not easy to do.
