The Dolphins are banking that the addition of Ndamukong Suh will help improve a defense that was terrible against the run in 2014. Suh helped lead the Detroit Lions to the top ranked rush defense in the league last year, and if he can help the Dolphins crack the top-10, they will have a very strong defense this season.

Suh should also help free up space for pass rushers Cameron Wake and Olivier Vernon. Wake is an absolute animal, recording 35 sacks over the past three seasons, while Vernon has 18 sacks over the past two seasons. The Dolphins may need the pass rush to help cover up for a mediocre secondary. Brent Grimes is a solid starter, but questions remain at the number two spot on the depth chart.

The presence of Suh could have a huge affect on the Texans’ desire to pound the football with Foster, and pressure up the middle could ruin the confidence of whoever is playing quarterback at this point in the season.
