The Minnesota Vikings have been very up an down for the last decade. In the last eleven seasons, the team has been to the playoffs four times and have had five losing seasons. Last season the team showed some promise, finishing 7-9 after a disappointing 5-10-1 campaign in 2013.

Last year they were 27th in total offense, but gave away the sixth fewest turnovers. They gave up the fifth most sacks in the league, but also had the ninth most sacks on defense. They gave up the seventh fewest passing yards, but the eighth most rushing yards. The team itself could not figure out an identity, which caused them to lose a lot of close games and end up with a disappointing record.
Minnesota has to build on last year, where they showed potential to be a competitive team in the league. They’re playing in a very tough division, but still must manage a few big wins in 2015 or some more big changes will need to be made.

The Vikings are right on the brink. If they can put the pieces together properly, they should be a playoff team that is competing in every single game they play. Here are the keys to Minnesota raising themselves to a competitive level in 2015.
