The grandest acquisition in the Eagles’ offseason is quarterback Sam Bradford. I personally believe they’ve upgraded the position from Nick Foles and Mark Sanchez but Bradford’s injury history can’t be discounted.

It will have been 694 days since Bradford has thrown his last professional pass once he takes the field on MNF.

Chip Kelly has been able to squeeze production out of every quarterback that he’s started and now he gets someone even better.

Bradford has franchise QB talent.

Bradford has franchise QB talent. He goes from one of the worst situations to one of the best. The run game support, the offensive line, and the system are better than anything he’s had before. The NFC East features a lot less vicious defenses compared to what he had to play against in the NFC West.

His best trait is his accuracy which is what sold the Rams on him when they drafted him #1 overall. He has the natural ability to be able to throw receivers open and away from coverage. His arm strength is good; he can hit all the vertical and sideline routes. He sees the field.

He is one of the few quarterbacks who can methodically drive their way down the field all day. When he’s throwing with rhythm and under no pressure, he’s impeccable. But he is prone to becoming shaky under pressure. Years playing under center for the Rams might have contributed to that, as well as playing at Oklahoma where he was rarely ever under pressure.

The Falcons need the pass rush to show up because he’s comfortable standing in the pocket going through his reads otherwise. A ferocious assault seems unlikely however.
