Third-year running back Eddie Lacy continues his impressive play, with a big assist from an offensive line that has finally put it all together.

This past season, the 2013 second-round pick finished seventh in the NFL with 1,139 yards rushing and nine touchdowns, averaging 4.6 yards per carry. But what some missed is the fact that he also caught 42 passes (third-best on the team) for 427 yards and four scores.

In 2014, Green Bay averaged a very-respectable 119.8 yards per game rushing. Combine that with the efficiency of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, a talented receiving corps featuring Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams and an effective offensive line (led by right tackle Bryan Bulaga) that allowed only 30 sacks on 566 passing plays and there’s little wonder this unit scored an impressive 52 offensive touchdowns.

With all due respect to Rodgers, the 2014 NFL MVP, Lacy is a bigger key that some may think. And while he may take somewhat of a back seat to the Packers’ passing attack, it’s all working so far.
