The Washington Redskins and general manager Scot McCloughan are working towards building a roster capable of winning on a consistent basis. To do this, the team will have to draft well, while having their draftees and other young players perform at a high level. If the Redskins want to return to relevance, their young talent will have to show steady improvement and growth over the course of the season and beyond.

The key to building a consistently competitive football team is good drafting and player development. In my opinion, the success of the Redskins upcoming season will be linked to the success that their young players have. If their young players produce, which I believe they can, then their win-loss record and overall team camaraderie will improve.
While a large portion of player development falls on the shoulders of the coaching staff, the players they’re coaching have to want to succeed, too. If a player isn’t interested in improving his game, it doesn’t matter how good the staff surrounding him is because he’ll never truly be taking advantage of the opportunity in front of him.
With that being said, I’ll be discussing five breakout candidates for Washington’s upcoming 2015 season. These are the players that I believe will take advantage of the opportunity in front of them.
