9. Read the injury reports

Unfortunately, injuries happen in sports and you need to be prepared for it. Unless you are playing in a league where the entire roster locks when the first game of the week begins, be ready to scour the internet and television to keep up with the latest injury news as it relates to your players.

In today’s society with Twitter and ESPN, FOX, and CBS all having pre-game shows before the 1 p.m. EST games, there’s no excuse to find out last minute injury news. If you catch the injury reports, you can make a quick change to your roster and appropriately insert or remove a player depending on the situation. This preparedness could lead to a close win, a blowout win, etc. Yet, if the changes aren’t made with last-minute injury news, that tight lose will hurt worse because lack of preparedness was to blame.

Reading the injury reports sets the veterans apart from the rookies. The rookie fantasy football participant doesn’t take the final moments before roster locks to check their team one last time. This is a disastrous moves as keeping an injured player within the starting lineup could be the difference between making the league’s playoffs and missing it by one win. Don’t be that guy or gal and take that final moment to check your roster. Most fantasy football leagues have downloadable mobile apps  that make it even more easy and convenient to check in a jiffy.

It’s simple; there’s no excuse not to read the injury reports if there’s going to be any serious chance of winning the league. This tip applies to all types of leagues no matter how you break it down.
