6. Participate in a Mock Draft
How does someone expect to do well in anything without practicing?
Some people have the art of procrastination and being able to wing it. Yet, fantasy football is not one of those areas where those who wing it do well. Yes, they will win some weeks because they picked the obvious options in the beginning rounds, but in the later rounds they will be stressed out because the players left in the draft aren’t well known.
Another benefit of taking part in a mock draft or two is that different strategies an be practiced. Likewise, mock draft results can be shared, debated, and talked about on social media. This will help an individual learn from a mistake in a mock draft and be able to improve once the real draft comes up. Also, input from others helps them improve their own strategies and players to choose from.
As the old saying goes, “practice makes perfect (or better).” This applies to fantasy football too. Preparation in addition to taking time to practice by participating in mock draft will make individuals better fantasy football users. It also helps them from drafting before Week 3 of the NFL preseason and keep a major injury to a key player on their roster from dooming their chances before the season commences.
Being ill-prepared and waiting until the day of your draft to even think about strategy will end up dooming your fantasy roster.
