4. Watch the waiver wire

Another way to find success is to be mindful of the waiver wire. Not everyone you play against will look at the wavier wire and will only look at the free agents. This is a bad move that is guaranteed to spoil your game. Why limit your player pool to just free agents? There are great finds in the waiver wire.

Many players are let go from other teams in fantasy football for non-playing reasons. A main reason is that due to a bye week they are released or because of an incoming trade. Of course, they could be let go because of their lack of points, but their contribution could become an improvement on your squad. Also, who knows if the player had a bad stretch of games and could turn it around the week you are able to pick him off the waiver wire.

In most leagues, the waiver wire order is in the reverse order of the current standings. If you are struggling in your league, this is the best place to find new member of your squad. On the other hand, successful teams can still use the waiver wire and find solid talent. You will probably miss out on a player or two that are on waivers throughout the seasons, but there will be players that no one will want that you can basically steal.

Improvisation and thinking on your feet will help you to find success week to week in fantasy football. One way to separate yourself from the field is to check that waiver wire first before checking out the free agents. There’s a reason those players weren’t taken in the first place.
