No.6: St.Louis Rams, 11-5

If you read the NFC West predictions, you will be able to tell that I am a huge believer in this Rams team. Their defense is about as good as it gets, especially if their young defensive backs will continue to improve. The question mark for the Rams will be the offense led by a strong running game. Gurley and Mason could be a deadly one-two punch, taking a lot of pressure of Foles and the passing game. They have the talent to make a deep run in these playoffs and it will be up to the offense to at least somewhat produce to lead their run.

No.5: Minnesota Vikings, 11-5

Like with the Rams, I am also a big believer in the Vikings. Their defense is also very good, though unlike the Rams, I think their secondary will be the difference maker in Minnesota. I have them as the five seed because I think they will win their matchup at home against the Rams in week 9, giving them the tie-breaker over St. Louis.

In the playoffs they will have to rely on steady play from Teddy Bridgewater and especially some great performances by Adrian Peterson. If the offense can put up points, they could be able to make a deep run. The No.5 seed is a very good place to be as it sets up a game with a likely weak NFC South opponent.

No.4: Carolina Panthers, 7-9

The Panthers might be a bit better than their record, but really not too much better. Their run game will be key for their success on offense as they need that to open up the pass game. With the young  targets they have, there is a lot  of question about their passing game. At the end of last season, the defense was playing very well. The front seven will have to make up for the weaker secondary, but with a strong running game and good defensive performances the Panthers could get another playoff win or possibly even two, though the competition is very tough.

No.3: Philadelphia Eagles, 11-5

I believe in Chip Kelly and his system. I didn’t like the Boykin trade at all as I thought their secondary and especially their cornerback position was very complete and losing Boykin hurts that a bit. Still their offense will put up points, though they might struggle against some very good defense. The defense has the potential to be very good as well, especially if Maxwell can be the lockdown corner that Eagles are paying him to be. The pressure is on Chip Kelly as he has made this team innto his team and now it must show that it will work. They have the talent for a deep run, but will they be good enough?

No.2: Seattle Seahawks, 14-2

The Seahawks are loading up for one last title run in which the Russell Wilson is still under rookie contract. With contract talks dominating training camp, it is evident that the Seahawks simply won’t be able to keep all the star power of the past few years. They added one of the best tight ends in the NFL are primed to make a third Super Bowl.

With a dominant running game and a good passing game, the Seahawks offense should be better than in the past years. The defense hasn’t changed much either. It might be a bit weaker up the middle and the legion of boom is not as strong through Cary Williams. In the end the defense will lead this team to more success.

No.1: Green Bay Packers, 14-2

After not making it to the NFC Championship game three years in a row, Green Bay showed that the Pack is back last year. They are eager to make up for their disappointing loss to the Seahawks in which they weren’t able to take advantage of Russell Wilson’s four interceptions.

The Packers have the best offense in the NFL led by the best quarterback in the NFL, throwing to some of the best wide receivers in the NFL and balanced by the one of the best running backs in the NFL. The defense will be the weak spot. The secondary could really struggle this year and the lack of pass rush was very evident last year, and that is something that needs to change.
